This session will start by practicing to press violas and gradually work toward pressing more difficult flowers. You will also learn how to create various beautiful designs. Variation of backgrounds are also being used. This session is designed for students all levels. Just imagine, you will be able to make these pictures without any art backgrounds or training. I will show you how. We will also cover framing in the class.

There are 7 classes (7 Saturday morning classes) in this session.

Classroom location: Villa Park High School classroom 400 (18042 Taft Ave., Villa Park, CA 92861)

Starting Date: 3/31/2007 (Saturday)

Class time: 9:30 - 11:30AM

Students need to bring the following materials to class:

  1. toothpicks

  2. craft glue (need to dry clear. Suggest either Tacky or Elmer)

  3. scissors (need to be sharp for precision cutting)

  4. tweezers

  5. cotton balls

  6. soft pastel (available in craft/art supply stores)

  7. sharp craft or utility knife

Students need to bring the following materials to class on the week of pressing indicated by the instructor in class.

  1. a fresh bunch (at least 6) of tulips and flower press when indicated in the class* (note: Spring flower choice will depend on flower availability at the time of the class.)

  2. Flower press (will discuss about this at the 1st class)

  3. Pressing paper (such as Viva paper towel)

  4. cardboard piece to cut on.
